Data Analytics Technology and Platforms

The Right Platform for the Problem, Not the Hype

The Technologies We Work With

Allston Yale is a Texas Microsoft Fabric consultant that works across the full range of modern data tools. Think of this page as the map: the platforms we build on, the ones we connect with, and where to go next based on what your team already runs and what is actually hurting.

01

Microsoft Power BI

The reporting layer most of our clients live in. If dashboards are the immediate need, start on our Power BI consultant page, which covers how we build models and reports your team can trust.

02

Microsoft Fabric

The data platform beneath the reporting, and our main build target for teams outgrowing plain Power BI. Our Microsoft Fabric consulting page covers lakehouse design, pipelines, and capacity sizing for a lean team.

03

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft's cloud platform for data storage, AI, and analytics, delivering the secure, high-performance foundation that Microsoft Fabric and Power BI run on.

04

Databricks

A lakehouse platform that unifies data engineering, data science, and analytics, bringing large-scale processing and machine learning into one collaborative workspace.

05

Snowflake

A cloud data platform that separates storage from compute, so teams can scale analytics elastically and share governed data across clouds.

06

Google BigQuery

A serverless, fully managed data warehouse that runs fast SQL analytics over massive datasets with no infrastructure to provision or maintain.

07

Amazon Redshift

Amazon's cloud data warehouse, engineered for fast query performance and tight integration with the wider AWS data and analytics ecosystem.

08

SAP

A business data fabric that connects SAP and non-SAP sources while preserving the business context your reporting and analytics depend on.

10

Teradata

An enterprise analytics platform built for complex, high-concurrency workloads that span hybrid and multi-cloud environments at massive scale.

09

Oracle

A self-driving database platform that automates tuning, patching, and scaling to keep mission-critical enterprise workloads fast, available, and secure.

Data Integration and Pipeline Tools

Getting data where it needs to be is half the battle. We build and maintain pipelines with Matillion, Fivetran, and Coalesce, moving and shaping your sources into analytics-ready form instead of leaving your team to wire it together by hand.

01

Matillion

A cloud-native data integration platform that accelerates ETL, simplifying how you transform and combine data from many sources into analytics-ready form.

02

Fivetran

An automated data pipeline platform that keeps analytics current through managed connectors, reducing the manual effort and complexity of data movement.

03

Coalesce

A data transformation platform that pairs visual design with code, automating pipeline development for scalable, high-performance analytics on modern warehouses.

Other BI and Reporting Tools

Many teams reach us mid-migration. We know Tableau, Looker, Qlik, Cognos, and MicroStrategy well enough to move their reports into Power BI cleanly, or to integrate where a full move is not on the table.

01

Tableau

A visual analytics platform known for fast, interactive dashboards and exploratory data discovery, now part of the Salesforce ecosystem.

02

Google Looker

Google's BI platform built on a governed modeling layer, delivering consistent metrics and embedded analytics across web and cloud applications.

03

Qlik

An analytics platform powered by an associative engine, letting users explore relationships across data freely rather than down predefined query paths.

04

Cognos

IBM's enterprise reporting and analytics suite, long trusted for pixel-perfect reports, scheduled distribution, and governed self-service across large organizations.

05

MicroStrategy

An enterprise BI platform with a strong semantic layer, built for governed reporting and analytics at scale across the whole organization.

06

Sigma

A cloud-native analytics platform with a familiar spreadsheet interface, letting teams explore live warehouse data collaboratively for real-time business insights.

Why the Platform You Choose Matters

The data analytics technology and platforms you choose decide what your reporting can do for years. A tool that fits your data and your team pays off quietly; one bought on hype becomes the thing nobody can maintain. Fit beats fashion, and most mid-market teams need the right platform, not the largest.

How We Help You Choose the Right Fit

We start from your data and your constraints, not a product catalog. What feeds your reporting, how fresh the numbers must be, and who maintains it afterward tell us far more than any feature list. Sometimes the answer is Power BI and nothing more; sometimes it is a full Fabric build. We say which, plainly.

Built Around Microsoft, Fluent in the Rest

As a Microsoft Fabric consultant and Power BI experts, we go deepest on these tools, but the data analytics technology and platforms we work across reach well beyond one vendor. That range is what lets us connect your existing stack rather than pretend it does not exist or bill you to replace it.

Technology Sized for a Lean Team

The best platform for a $50M to $100M business is the one a small team can actually run. We size the technology to your real workloads and document it, so you are never dependent on a consultant to keep the lights on after we step back.

Common Questions

Do we have to use Microsoft to work with you?

No. Power BI and Fabric are where we go deepest, but we regularly build alongside other platforms and integrate with the tools you already run. The goal is the right result on your stack, not a forced migration to ours.

Can you help us pick between platforms?

Yes, and it is one of the more useful things we do. We weigh your data, your team, and your budget, then recommend the platform that fits rather than the one with the biggest name, with a clear reason for the call.

What if we are mid-migration from another tool?

A common starting point. We know the major legacy BI tools well enough to move their reports into Power BI cleanly, keeping what people use and retiring what they do not. See our Data Migration [link] page for how that runs.

Where to Start

If reporting is the pain, start on the Power BI consultant page. If the data platform underneath is creaking, start with Microsoft Fabric consulting. If you are not sure which, that is exactly the conversation we are glad to have first.

Book a Platform Conversation

Choosing the right data analytics technology and platforms is easier with a second opinion. Book a short call and we will point you to the right starting place for your team and your stack.
