Financial Services and Banking
Create Reports That You Can Bank On
Allston Yale builds financial services analytics for mid-market banks, lenders, and finance firms in Texas and across the USA. We help lean finance and IT teams turn data spread across core systems and spreadsheets into reporting they can stand behind.
01
The Reporting Burden Never Lets Up
In financial services the reporting never stops. Regulators, the board, and executives all want numbers, often the same ones cut differently, while the data sits in separate systems. We connect those sources so answering no longer means another late night.
02
What Financial Services Analytics Covers
Data analytics for financial services runs across the institution. It measures profitability by product, customer, and branch; tracks credit and portfolio risk; supports regulatory and compliance reporting; and speeds up the monthly close and the planning behind it.
Few teams tackle all of that at once. We start where the pain is sharpest, often profitability nobody can pin down or a regulatory report assembled by hand, and expand from a number the institution already cares about.
03
Built for Lean Finance and IT Teams
A mid-market institution rarely has a dedicated analytics group, yet it faces the same regulators and scrutiny as the largest banks. We build reporting a small finance and IT team can maintain, so compliance and board reporting do not hinge on one person’s spreadsheet.
04
From Core Systems to a Dashboard People Trust
Your data sits in core banking or loan systems, the general ledger, and the spreadsheets bridging the gaps. We bring it together, reconcile it, and turn it into business intelligence financial services teams actually use, not another export to clean by hand.
Done right, financial reporting in Power BI replaces the manual pack everyone dreads. The CFO, the risk officer, and the line of business see numbers that agree, so the conversation moves to decisions instead of whose figure is correct.
05
Seeing Risk Before It Becomes Loss
The forward-looking view matters most here. Predictive analytics in finance reads the patterns in your portfolio and transactions to flag rising credit risk or unusual activity early, so you act on a trend before it shows up as a loss or a write-down.
06
Built on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
We build financial services analytics on Microsoft Power BI for reporting and Microsoft Fabric for the data platform beneath it. For the reporting craft see our Power BI consultant page, and for the platform see our Microsoft Fabric consulting page.
Most institutions start with Power BI done well on the reports that matter most, then grow into Fabric as data volume and sources expand. We help you separate a real platform need from an upgrade that can safely wait.
07
Security and Governance Built In
Financial data demands tight control. We design with governance from the start, restricting sensitive figures through row-level security, controlling who sees what, and documenting how data flows so an audit or exam is a routine event rather than a scramble.
What working with Us Looks like
Many financial analytics companies deliver a dashboard and move on. We learn how your institution makes money and manages risk first, build to that, and document everything so your team stays in control long after the engagement ends.

Common Questions
Can you connect to our core banking or loan systems?
Yes. We regularly pull from core banking, loan, and general ledger systems, through their databases, extracts, or interfaces, and combine that with the spreadsheets in between. We do not replace those systems; we make their data usable in one place.
Can this support our regulatory reporting?
It can. Once the underlying numbers are reconciled and governed, the same foundation that feeds management reporting can produce regulatory and board packs consistently, which cuts the manual assembly and the risk of a figure not tying out.
How do you handle data security?
Security shapes the design, not the afterthought. Access is governed down to the row, sensitive figures are limited to those who need them, and data flows are documented so examiners and auditors see a clear, controlled picture rather than a black box.
How long until we see something useful?
A first dashboard on a priority area, profitability, risk, or the monthly close, usually lands in weeks. We get one trustworthy view in front of finance early instead of waiting to model the whole institution, then build out from there.
Talk to Us About Your Numbers
If your team rebuilds the same reports every month or struggles to answer the board quickly, a short conversation will show what is possible. Book a time and we will walk through your data and where to start.
